1. To conduct, sponsor and aid research in the field of social sciences and associated fields, to cover all aspects of a growing and developing policy, including governance, management, nature resources and organizational problems with special reverence to hilly/Himalayan regions in a developing society.
  2. To conduct training programs and summer/winter school for University and College Teachers to improve their research skills.
  3. To conduct training programs in the policy, governance, management, natural and organizational aspects of social and natural resources management and award certificates on the successful completion of their courses by the trainees.
  4. To provide fellowship to the selected candidate in memory of the Late Smt. BeenaPaliwal.
  5. To maintain a documentation and data centre in the social sciences, planning, and management, especially concerning the Uttarakhand State and Himalayan region.
  6. To establish a museum having all the data regarding tribal, traditional knowledge and heritage of the Himalayan region.
  7. To introduce scholarships, fellowships, and awards for teachers, students and research workers for promoting research in social sciences and allied fields.
  8. To publish books, periodicals, and other literature in the field of social science and interdisciplinary fields of research as well as to sponsor and aid such publications.
  9. To organize, sponsor and aid seminars, workshops, study circles, working groups/parties, and conferences for promoting research or utilization of interdisciplinary, and social sciences research.
  10. To promote and sell local Himalayan products.
  11. To establish fruitful connections between the institute and other institutions or scholars engaged in social science research and in particular, to establish a cooperative relationship with the imminent institutes of India/abroad.
  12. To establish a Centre for excellence in trial studies, Centre for Health and gender studies, and Centre for Social Science Research.
  13. To facilitate persons working for the social cause and environmental protection.
  14. To run skill enhancement courses for rural people.
  15. To bring out half yearly journal of the trust/Foundation.
  16. To take all such measures as are within the competent of the Institute for the promotions of the search in social sciences.
  17. To accept donations, grants, presents, gifts and other offerings in the shape of moveable and/or immovable properties for the attainments of the aims and objects of the Trust.
  18. To erect, construct, alter, maintain, sell, lease, mortgage, transfer, improve, develop, manage and control all or any part of the property or building of the Trust necessary or convenient for the attainments of the aims and objectives of the Trust.
  19. To purchase or acquire the land and/or building in the name of the Trust for the fulfilment of the aims and objectives of the Trust.
  20. To serve all the Indians irrespective of religion, caste, creed and language through all means positive.
  21. To create a sense of brotherhood, cooperation, mutual harmony, love and affection among the general public.
  22. To do such other things/acts/activities which are necessary and which may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of any object of the Trust.
